The Steampunk Watchmaker – Haruo Suekichi
Maybe I’ve been letting my current reading (Watchmen) influence my OMG this is cool radar, but OMG this is cool. If you’ve followed this blog at all, my weakness/respect for Steampunk creations should be no surprise to you.
I don’t even understand visually how some of these watch devices are supposed to work, but I want them any way. That is very illogical, I must be only half Vulcan.
There is a really great interview at PingMag.com, with a handfull of other great photos (special thanks go to Martin Holtkamp for his hard work behind the lens) of his creations. Keep up the good work my brother.
If you are in Tokyo visit his shop and buy your favorite watch wearer a watch, support thte arts:

Dude, we are delighted if you refer to our site — but please! If you only take the pics, you’d really have to include the credits of the photographer Martin Holtkamp. He put a lot of work in that and it’s simply not fair to exclude him. Also in terms of copyrights.
Oki?
Thanks a lot!
Hi everyone,
I live in Japan and go regularly to
2 Tokyo shops where they sell Haruo Suekichi
watches.
I can buy one and ship it for you for a commission.
Payment by Paypal, transaction on e-bay
for your safety.
Feel free to contact me at:

Kind regards,
Unfortunately the address that you’ve listed is no longer valid as the shop has moved or gone out of business. Luckily two other shops still sell the watches. For more info, see:
