Little Houses

C3 House

At one time I had a plan to buy a big plot of land and build the worlds smallest house on it. I figured I could then live off the money I charged for admission to this wondrous attraction.

While my plans may be on hold, and in need of review, my friend Mark always keeps me apprised of the latest ’small’ designs.

Check out this keeper from Vandeventer+Carlander Architects , the C3.

It’s really just supposed to be a get away retreat, but I think it looks big enough.

  1. You see, this is what I don’t understand. Less than 400 sq ft. may be pushing it for a family, but for most people smaller homes with higher quality finish and materials would probably lead to a more satisfying experience with less upkeep. Unfortunately, securing a loan for something less than 1400 sq. ft. is VERY difficult in the U.S.
